Louis Noriega’s information technology career spans over 32 years of experience, responsible in activities including strategic planning, project management, systems design, operations and application development. He is past chair of the American Association of Port Authorities (AAPA) Information Technology Committee and has served as a member of the Florida Ports Council Security Committee, Florida Uniform Port Access Credential Committee and has been invited to speak at numerous conferences and seminars throughout the United States and the Caribbean. His expertise has been solicited at national and international ports and is regularly interviewed by Port Security Magazines and Periodicals.
As the Port of Miami’s senior information technology executive he has been able to effectively assemble and work with technical teams to achieve targeted objectives and develop relationships with executives organization-wide to balance strategic plans and technology innovation with tactical business goals. The successful implementation of projects in an enterprise wide multi-platform environment that required strong project management, systems analysis, design and programming skills by his teams are a measure of his abilities. As a result of his efforts, the Port of Miami has won many national awards for its successful implementation of leading edge integrated security systems, and is known as the most technologically advanced Landlord Port throughout the Western Hemisphere. He is most proud of being honored as the 2010 Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce Technology Leader of the Year Award.
Mr. Noriega’s government experience has provided him with a unique perspective regarding applied technologies in the field of security, emergency management and the successful integration of security and business applications.
